79. Miracles and Other Reasonable Things: A Story of Unlearning and Relearning God by Sarah Bessey
Sarah Bessey was a well-regarded and sought after Christian speaker when she wound up in a serious car accident that changed her life forever. This on top of her father’s life threatening heart disease and an invitation to meet the Pope led Bessey to reexamine her faith and meet God in a whole new way. It was engaging memoir of faith, doubt, and learning to live with chronic illness. I give it an 8 out of 10.
78. Fear of Falling by Georgia Beers
Singer Sophie James, who is an Adele type character, has been at loose ends since her long-time manager and father figure died. As their best selling singer her tabloid behavior is making her label very unhappy, so they force a new manager on her to help keep her in check. Dana Landon is good at her job and has always been super professional, but now she’s finding that her newest charge is making her want to be anything but. Can they pursue a relationship and keep both of their careers intact? This was an A+ romance. I couldn’t put it down. The characters and the obstacles between them were believable. There was great sexual tension. I give it a 9 out of 10.
77. In Case You Forgot by Frederick Smith and Chaz Lamar
I’m not sure what this book was supposed to be. I thought it was supposed to be a romance, but it wasn’t really that. There’s two characters that both have love troubles that date briefly, but most of the story their characters don’t even interact. Apparently it’s written by two different authors and it kind of feels like two different stories that briefly overlap instead of the eventual romantic relationship I was waiting for. I give it a 3 out of 10.
